New Strategic Business Unit Partner appointed at SRK Consulting

Sharon Jones

Sharon Jones, a principal environmental consultant in SRK Consulting, has been appointed as the partner responsible for the firm’s Western Cape Strategic Business Unit. With almost 25 years’ experience in environmental management, Jones has driven projects around southern Africa and abroad – mainly related to ports and marine-based projects, renewable energy, mining, and large infrastructure (e.g., airports and dams). She joined SRK Consulting’s Cape Town office in 2005.

She has managed a range of complex Environmental Impact Assessments, and has developed Environmental Management Frameworks, Environmental Management Plans, due diligence reviews and gap analysis studies aligned to the standards of the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank.

Her qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in environmental and geographical science from the University of Cape Town, and an MPhil in environmental management from the University of Stellenbosch. Jones is registered professional natural scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, and a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner.
