4th SADC Groundwater Conference 2021


THEME: Towards a Water Secure SADC- Groundwater Systems Thinking

Please Note: The Call for Abstracts has been extended to 11 October 2021.

The Southern African Community Development Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) in collaboration with its partners will host the 4th SADC groundwater Conference on 10 – 12 November 2021, under the theme “Towards a Water Secure SADC – Groundwater Systems Thinking”.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the conference will be held virtually. The virtual conference will be designed in a manner that will ensure that delegates across the region and beyond effectively collaborate to find solutions to the region’s water-related challenges.

Possible Topics for discussion include Integrated Water Resource Management with a focus on Groundwater, Surface water – Groundwater interactions, Environmental Flow Requirements, Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems, Groundwater and WASH, Governance of Groundwater Resources, the WEFE Nexus.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND SPECIAL SESSIONS

Partners and Stakeholders wishing to run special sessions and panel discussions under the sponsorship program are requested to submit concept notes in line with the theme of the conference by the 9th of October 2021.
